EAST LIVERPOOL – David N. Golden, Sr., of East Liverpool, passed away Friday evening, November 16, 2018 at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 81.

Born in East Liverpool, July 26, 1937, he was a son of the late Richard K. Golden and Dorothy Neville Sayre and step-son of the late Robert Sayre. A lifetime area resident, he graduated from Chester High School in 1955. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from 1961 to 1963 and later with the U.S. Army Reserves Central Group from 1963 to 1967.

He retired from J&L Specialty Steel and previously worked at Crucible Steel. He held membership in the United Steel Workers of America Local 1212. A member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church, he was also a familiar face at Northside Community Church.

Above all things in life, David was a family man. He especially enjoyed watching his grandson Evan play sports and spending time with family. His wife Linda K. Golden, whom he married August 4, 1967, preceded him in death on September 2, 2007.

Left to cherish and honor his memory are his daughter, Karen S. Tice and her husband, Bill, and son, David N. Golden, Jr., as well as a grandson, Evan Tice, all of East Liverpool. He also leaves a sister, Roberta Carpenter and her husband, Kim, of Phoenix, Arizona as well as three nieces and one nephew.

Friends may visit Monday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Larry Rose of the Northside Community Church will conduct a funeral service Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Locust Hill Cemetery in Chester where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at Northside Community Church for fellowship.
