Obituary for James R. "Jimmy" Hayden

James R. Hayden, 64

EAST LIVERPOOL – James R. “Jimmy” Hayden, of East Liverpool, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital following a brief illness. He was 64.

Born in East Liverpool, July 6, 1954, he was a son of the late W. Neil and Theresa M. Fiorello Hayden. A lifetime East Liverpool resident, he was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1972 and a member of the former St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Jimmy had been working as a private contractor. Previously, he had worked at Sherwin-Williams Paints, Superior Paints, Western-Southern and Mountaineer.

Jimmy had a great sense of humor, compassion to help any and every one in need and a love for music and movies. Above everything in life he saved the most love for his family and friends.

He leaves his three children: a daughter, Emily Detwiler and her husband, Ray, of Canfield, and two sons, Adam Hayden and his companion, Sarah Anne Young, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio and Andrew Hayden of East Liverpool, as well as one grandson, Sterling Hayden Detwiler. He is also survived by two sisters, Candy Page and her husband, Ken, and Becky Merritt, all of East Liverpool, along with a brother, W. Thomas Hayden and his wife, Kellie, of Navarre, Florida.

Jimmy will also be fondly remembered by several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at the chapel at Columbiana County Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8th. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the chapel. The Dawson Funeral Home has been trusted with these arrangements.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at Olivia’s Banquet Facility, 1506 Pennsylvania Avenue, for fellowship.

Please say a prayer, keep us in your thoughts, watch a Harry Potter marathon, listen to some good dancing music, tell a dirty joke and eat some mint chocolate chip ice cream in celebration of a wonderful man.
