Obituary for Keith Greathouse

LAWRENCEVILLE, GEORGIA – Keith Greathouse, 66, of East Liverpool passed away suddenly Friday, June 28, 2019 at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, GA while visiting with his brother.

Keith was born in East Liverpool on July 17, 1952 a son of the late James E. and Maude E. (Creamer) Greathouse. He was a graduate of East Liverpool High School class of 1972. Keith worked as a potter for 20 years at Hall China. He worked for 13 years at the former Hills Department Store in the sight and sound department. Keith’s favorite job was being a caregiver at Ezra Center. He recently retired from Marsh Bellofram after 10 years of service.

Keith was a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church where served as an usher and helped with the church maintenance. As a former member of Oakland Free Methodist Church he served as an usher, Christiana Life Club Leader and operated the sound board.

Keith loved music especially the Beatles and Elvis. He also was an avid sci-fi, Treki and Star Wars fan. Keith was always a comical person and a lot of people considered him to be a breath of fresh air. Most of all, Keith was a loving husband, father, pappy, great pappy, brother and uncle.

Preceding Keith in death were his great grandson Kiran Terry; sister Jacqueline Hickman and two brothers Allen and Ronald Greathouse.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, whom he married, July 26, 1980, Theresa A. (McBee) Greathouse; three daughters Michelle Hart and her husband Scott of Salineville, Bonnie Campbell and her husband Mike of Wellsville and Abby Dalton and her husband Jeremy of East Liverpool; son Mike Greathouse and his wife Rebecca of East Liverpool; 13 grandchildren, whom he loved, Shane Hart, Jordan Hart, Mariah Hart, Maximus Hart, Alexis Terry and her husband Jacob, Courtney Campbell, Gavin Campbell, Andrew Dalton, Emma Dalton, Lilly Dalton, Isabel Dalton, Athena Henderson and Elaina Henderson; three great grandchildren Addilynn Hart, Braxlee Terry and Jaxson Hart; two brothers Michael Ray Greathouse and his wife Monica of La Grange, GA and Randy Greathouse and his wife Barbara of Gainesville, GA; special aunt Ruth Ann McBee and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit Friday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Dr. Richard Herbster of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church will conduct a funeral service Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Immediately following the service, friends and family will gather at the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church for fellowship.
