Obituary for Vallie Fiorello (Stewart)
CANTON, OHIO – Vallie Fiorello, 90, of East Liverpool passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio.
Vallie was born in East Liverpool on January 3, 1929 a daughter of the late Thomas John and Elsie (Hines) Stewart. She was a graduate of East Liverpool High School class of 1947. Vallie worked for the East Liverpool City Schools from 1968 through 2004 as a cafeteria worker and manager at East Elementary. She was a supporter of the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association and an avid Potters fan. Vallie was also known for her cooking and baking.
Preceding Vallie in death were her husband Ross J. Fiorello; two brothers Marvin Stewart and Thomas Stewart; two sisters Bertha Adkins and Martha Adkins; half-brother Lester Stewart; half-sister Mildred Calhoun; father and mother-in-law Angelo “Dunch” and Frances Fiorello and a very special friend James Cunningham.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Ross A. Fiorello and his wife Janice of Canton, OH; daughter Lisa Fiorello Halstead and her husband Bruce of East Liverpool; two grandsons Ross Fiorello and his wife Monique of Canton, OH and Jay Fiorello of Kent, OH; two great grandchildren Rosaria and Isaiah Fiorello both of Canton, OH; brother Richard “Rich” Stewart and his wife Kayleen, of East Liverpool and many nieces and nephews to whom she was very close.
Friends may visit Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. Rev. Norm Eckert of Beechwood Free Methodist Church will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Immediately following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
Memorial donations may be directed in Vallie’s memory to East Liverpool High School Alumni Association, 216 E. Fourth Street, East Liverpool, OH 43920.
