Even thou my mom & I struggled to be close as mother and daughter, I can now understand some of what she went though as a woman. I’m sure it was difficult raising 6 kids on one income. I can say, we as children caused her a lot of havoc. Raising one child with medical issues, who was in & out of hospital a lot and was told she would never walk or talk was not an easy task in life. We as children had our own struggles with our mom, but when it comes down to it, she may not have taken care of herself like she should have & maybe she Sacrificed herself for her children. She was often thought of as absent minded or even crazy at times, but I could only think with a daughter that was somewhat handicapped& a husband who was legally blind, that she might of had a lot going on in life & in her mind! I can say now that I am older and dealing with quite a bit myself, I understand some of what she went through. Family may have thought she was weak and even embarrassed by her ( myself included), now as an adult woman myself, I now see she was a very strong woman with demons she could not gain control of. We as children should have focused on finding her help instead of blaming her for all that went wrong in our lives (everyone Deserves a second chance in life). I myself feel guilty ,that we were not as close as I would have liked, I know now that her life has ended with me becoming a better woman now & till the end of my life.
Love you mom & thank you for my life!
Peggy
